MASTERs and High Noon Athletes Deliver Strong Performances at Dallas Invitational and Presidents Cup

It was a strong weekend for both the High Noon Judo team and the MASTERs Fellows as athletes competed across two major national events in Dallas. The team entered the 2025 Dallas Invitational and the Presidents Cup, earning medals across junior, senior, and veterans divisions.

Paige Han earned a bronze medal.
Marley Garland, a MASTERs Fellow, earned silver in the junior division after facing Canadian team member Alyssa Tkachenko in the final. She later defeated Alyssa on her way to a second silver medal in the senior division. In the senior bracket she defeated national medalist Angela Ryu before falling to multi time Continental Open medalist Skye Knoester. She advanced through repechage by defeating both Knoester and Tkachenko in rematches and reached the final, where she lost in overtime to Emilee Jaspe, currently ranked fifth in the world at U21. Garland grew up in Germany and recently began competing for the United States. She is expected to be in contention with Jaspe for the junior world team position next year.

Ekaterina Petri earned silver in her veterans division after defeating senior U.S. number one Melissa Myers with an armlock to force a best two out of three format.
Nakapan Phungephorn, a World Veterans fifth place finisher, earned silver in the 42 to 48 age division.
Liam Donovan earned silver in his veterans division.
Joe Cauthen earned bronze in his veterans division.
Corey Phelps won the 100 plus kg brown belt division, marking his first judo event victory.
Chloe Williams, a MASTERs Fellow, also competed.
EJ Lynch, a MASTERs Fellow competing under USA Stars Foundation, earned bronze in the senior 73 kg division with a record of 4 and 1.

Presidents Cup Results
Landon Williams earned silver in the Juvenile plus 64 kg division, advancing through the repechage bracket. He continues preparation for the Juvenile Pan Ams in December.
Eloise Painter won gold in the Juvenile under 36 kg division.
Marley Garland won the IJF Junior Female 63 kg division, including a win over cadet world team member Lily Oh and a victory in her rubber match against Alyssa Tkachenko.
Chloe Williams, a MASTERs Fellow, earned silver in the IJF Junior Female 70 kg division after a best two out of three final against Chrystal Monthe Noussi.
In the Senior 63 kg division, Marley Garland earned bronze. After defeating Rylee Sullivan she advanced to the semifinals, where she faced Emilee Jaspe. Their match extended five minutes into overtime. Garland later defeated Victoria Liu to secure the bronze medal. She competed in more than seventeen matches across the weekend.
In the Senior 70 kg round robin, Chloe Williams earned bronze. The division included three senior national champions: Nancy Nguyen, Yasmin Alamin, and Melissa Myers, as well as teammate Ekaterina Petri. Williams lost a close overtime match to Myers, then defeated Yasmin Alamin with a yuko score and secured a win over Petri. She also competed against eventual champion Nancy Nguyen.
Corey Phelps won three divisions: Senior Novice 100 plus, Senior Novice Open, and Senior Intermediate Men 100 plus.
Liam Donovan earned silver in his division.
Joe Cauthen earned gold in his division and later earned silver in an exhibition bracket.
Ekaterina Petri earned gold in her division and earned silver in an exhibition bracket.
Paige Han earned silver in the 48 kg Juvenile Novice division.
EJ Lynch, competing under USA Stars Foundation, represented the MASTERs Fellows program at both events.
