Chloe Williams Goes Three for Three in Montreal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Montreal, Canada – November 15th 2025

Chloe Williams competing in Montreal

High Noon Judo and the Martial Arts for Social Transformation, Equity, and Rights (MASTERs) announce a historic weekend for 17 year old American judoka Chloe Williams, who earned three podium finishes in three consecutive days at the Montreal Open. Williams earned bronze in the junior division, gold in the cadet division, and bronze in the senior division, the strongest three day IJF Tour performance ever recorded by a High Noon or MASTERs athlete.

Her senior bronze also marks two major program milestones. Williams is the first athlete from High Noon Judo to medal on the senior IJF World Tour. She is also the first American MASTERs fellow to reach a senior IJF podium. The only previous senior IJF medal for a MASTERs athlete was earned by Canadian fellow Solomon Choran, who placed third at this same event in 2024.

Day One: Junior Bronze

Williams began the weekend in the junior 70 kilogram division. She showed confidence and maturity throughout the day. She opened the day defeating Canadian Elizabeth Cossitt by ippon. Her only loss came in a close match to Canada’s Charlie Thibeault, the 2025 Cadet World silver medalist, in the semi-finals. She responded by winning her bronze medal match decisively, pinning Aryanna Godin for ippon. The performance continued a year of steady international progress, highlighted by medals at the Cadet Pan American Championships and top-seven finishes at multiple IJF junior events. The result pushed her inside the top fifty in the world junior rankings, a significant rise from the previous year.

Day Two: Cadet Gold

Williams returned the next day to compete in the cadet division. She dominated the field on her way to her first major IJF cadet gold medal. In the final she threw her Canadian opponent for wazari and finished with ippon on another large throw. Her victory came only one day after she medaled in juniors, demonstrating her ability to excel across age groups. With this gold, she is projected to rise to approximately sixteenth in the world among cadets. Before joining High Noon Judo and the MASTERs program, she had never medaled at the IJF cadet or junior levels. She now had podium finishes in both categories on consecutive days.

Day Three: Senior Bronze and Historic Firsts

Williams closed the weekend with a breakthrough performance in the senior 70-kilogram division.

She opened her day with a comeback win over Missy Jen Dorval Mbele of Canada. This would be a rematch of their bout from the 2024 Cadet Pan American championships. Down a yuko with one minute remaining, Williams increased her pace and outworked her opponent to draw the penalties needed to win.

In the quarterfinal she faced Rachael Hawkes of the United Kingdom and lost narrowly by a single yuko after a long, tactical contest.

Williams advanced to the bronze medal match by defeating Yasmin Alamin, a former United States number one and Pan American team member. Trailing by a yuko to wazari with just over a minute left, she committed fully to an a big uchimata and scored ippon.

In the bronze medal final she defeated Melissa Myers, the World number 51 athlete and a multiple time United States national champion and world team member. Williams found herself down two penalties early in golden score but maintained constant forward pressure until Myers collected three penalties, giving Williams the win and the historic senior bronze.

A Landmark Weekend for MASTERs and High Noon Judo

Before joining High Noon and MASTERs, Williams had never earned an IJF Tour medal in any age division. She now holds podium finishes in the junior, cadet, and senior categories from a single IJF event. In this past year Chloe dedicated herself to judo, including a training camp in Europe and with training partners from Japan. She competed in Peru, Bulgaria, Brazil, Panama, and across the United States.

Her success demonstrates her hard work, the support of her family, and the effectiveness of the MASTERs model that centers data driven judo, whole of athlete care, and service to athletes as individuals. This weekend reflects not only her competitive growth but the strength of the support system around her.

“Chloe showed extraordinary consistency over three consecutive days,” said Dr. Christopher Round, head coach at High Noon Judo and Executive Director of MASTERs. “She made adjustments in late match situations, handled diverse competitive styles, and proved she can succeed at every level. To take a senior bronze at 17 years old after medaling on the first two days is a testament to her growth and work ethic.”

Much of the foundation for Chloe’s progress comes from the training environment and support structure developed under Dr. Christopher Round’s leadership at High Noon Judo and MASTERs. His approach combines evidence-based coaching, data-informed scouting, and a focus on whole-athlete development that emphasizes skill acquisition, consistency, and long-term growth. The systems he has built with the coaching staff allow young athletes to train safely, compete confidently, and make steady progress on the IJF Tour. This weekend reflects not only Chloe’s commitment but also the strength of the program guiding her.
